Three female employees at a 1990s Korean conglomerate, stuck at high school diploma level and ineligible for promotion, enroll in the company's English class for a chance at advancement. While studying, they discover the company's factory is illegally dumping toxic waste — and no one in management will listen to them because they're not managers. A workplace comedy about being competent and invisible in an institution that organized itself to ignore you, set in a period when Korean economic growth was also a story about who got left out of it.
